Best remembered for his Oscar-winning piles to A Man and a Woman and Sexual love Story, composer Francis Lai was born April 26, 1932, in Nice, France. At the local Taverne d'Attilio, Lai met Bernard Dimey, with whom he collaborated on well o'er century songs; a brief stint in Michel Magne's orchestra preceded his term of office as accompanyist for Edith Piaf, for whom Lai as well composed a number of songs as good. He made his film debut in 1964 with the score to Roger Vadim's remake of Max Ophuls' classic La Ronde, and deuce days later composed the music for Jean-Luc Godard's Masculin/Feminin; however, it was his solve on Claude Lelouch's 1966 strike A Man and a Woman which elevated Lai to external fame, and in add-on to earning an Academy Award, he toothed a perennial docile hearing favourite with the picture's Brazilian-inflected title breeze. He south Korean won a second Oscar for the 1970 Arthur Hiller blockbuster Love Story, and the film's theme, "Where Do I Begin?," also became a Top 40 arrive at for Andy Williams, Henry Mancini, and even Lai himself. Internet-Ready Piano Streams Live Performances into the Living Room

BUENA PARK, Calif., June 19 -- There's a growing buzz
around the country and here's what it sounds like:

"When a piano comes with a hard drive, Ethernet jack, video output,
stereo speakers, audio/microphone input, CD and floppy drives, USB jacks
and an open-source Linux operating system, all kinds of new tricks are
possible." -- David Pogue, New York Times, April 17, 2008

"This Yamaha Disklavier Piano could be the most advanced piano we've
ever seen, and we've seen several...Not only does it have Wi-Fi to download
MIDI files onto itself so it can play back songs, you can record
performances -- with vocals and other instruments -- as well." -- Jason
Chen, Gizmodo, May 28, 2008

"If a computer could morph into a piano, or vice-versa, it might well
resemble a Yamaha like this one." -- Mike Yamamoto, Cnet Crave, May 29,
2008

I invite you to join the conversation about the Disklavier
(http://www.disklavier.com), the world's first Internet piano, by offering you a
personal demonstration so that you can experience this unique technology
for yourself. Simply plug it into your home network connection, and the
Disklavier lets you browse a dozen music channels over the Internet and
download music onto its 80-gigabyte hard drive. At the touch of a button,
immediately enjoy thousands of live performances made famous by top artists
such as Elton John and The Beatles, with the keys and pedals moving up and
down, and vocals and ensemble performances coming from the built-in
speakers. The Disklavier also allows you to videotape your own performances
and play them back with the piano in perfect step with the image. You can
even practice in total silence any time using headphones.

With the new version 3.0 upgrade, officially arriving this summer,
users can:

-- Record their own performances, including vocals and other
instrumentals, then burn their own album on a PC or Mac

-- Control the Disklavier from a PC or Macintosh computer from anywhere
in their home

For the first time, the piano has finally joined the multimedia living
room by becoming an iPod, high-tech "radio" and the ultimate home theater
component, all in one.

Please contact me for additional information, high-resolution digital
images, video, or to arrange for a demonstration of the Disklavier in
action.

The 'Minority Report' and 'In America' star said she managed to keep her illness a secret with the help of friends and family.
Morton, who had to learn to walk again after the stroke, made a full recovery and gave birth to her second daughter, Edie, in January.
The Nottingham-born star told the Observer that a few days after suffering head injuries when part of the ceiling in her home fell down on her she suffered a stroke.
At the time, in 2006, the world was told Morton had pulled out of a film called 'Transsiberian' because of the ceiling accident, the Observer reported. But the stroke, and her subsequent battle to recover, happened in private.
Morton said she was helped back to health by Spiritualized singer Jason Pierce - who had just got over pneumonia - and his girlfriend Juliette Larche.

Michael Jackson - Jackson Puts Personal Life On Hold To Work On Comeback Lp

Superstar MICHAEL JACKSON has reportedly put his personal life on hold as he prepares to make a triumphant return to the pop charts.

The Thriller hitmaker has allegedly banned his three children, Prince Michael, Prince Michael II and Paris, from his Las Vegas studio, where he is busy recording tracks for his highly-anticipated new album.

Jackson has also reportedly put his rumoured romance with his children's nanny, Grace Rwaramba, on hiatus, in order to fully focus on the LP - which has been in production since March 2006.

A source tells the New York Post's gossip column PageSix, "Michael is producing the album himself and has banned his kids from the recording studio. He realises this is very important and doesn't want any distractions.

"He's not going to be involved in any personal relationships with women until he gets this record done. He's dumped the nanny - she's not around any more."

George Thorogood speaks about Bo Diddley's impact

George Thorogood remembered Bo Diddley, his friend and influence who died of heart failure today (June 2).

The singer/guitarist, who covered Diddley's 'Who Do You Love' and name-checks him in one of his songs, told NME.COM that he was turned on to Diddley by The Rolling Stones.

I first heard Bo Diddley in 1966," said Thorogood. "I knew The Rolling Stones were big on this guy and I got a copy of Bo Diddleys '16 All-Time Greatest Hits' and flipped over it, and played it constantly."

Thorogood said that he still performs his cover of 'Who Do You Love', as well as 'Ride On Josephine', which was heavily influenced by the 'Bo Diddley beat'.

"I first met him in 1979, and as years went on we got closer and closer," he said. "Its an honour to be associated with his great music. I just had Hand Jive on last night. It goes, A doctor, a lawyer and an indian chief/They all dig that Diddley beat. That says it all.
